Education

Teaching Experience

Lecturer from 1994 for English majors from fresh apples to senior students, teaching different kinds of compulsory and optional courses (e. g. Comprehensive English, Reading, Listening, History of English Literature, Selected Readings of American Literature, and Movie Appreciation). The result of the Student Evaluation on the Teacher’s Classroom Performance is always desirable.

Associate Professor from 2001 (and Professor from 2012) for English graduates, teaching Western Literary Theories, Literary Criticism: Theory and Practice, English Drama Studies, Fiction and Movie Narratives, English Postmodernist Literature, etc.

Visiting Scholar in 2007 at the University of Brighton, England with a work permit, participating in the teaching of Creative Writing for the first-year and second-year undergraduates.

Tutor from 2001 for more than 300 graduating English majors and minors, supervising their graduation thesis writing (two theses respectively by Lin fan and Yang Tingting have been granted the “Excellent Graduation Thesis by Undergraduates from Universities in Hubei Province”.

Tutor from 2002 for more than 100 English graduates, supervising their graduation thesis writing (Theses by Li Guoyu, Wang Yingying, Song Laigen, and Cui Enhao have been granted the “Excellent Graduation Thesis by Graduates”.

Chief researcher of “Sherwood Anderson and His Art of Fiction”, a Youth Scholarship Project sponsored by the National Social Science Research Fund of China.

Chief researcher of “A Retrospect on the Countryside from the City: Sherwood Anderson Studies”, an Academic Book Publishing Project sponsored by the Philosophy and Social Science Research Fund of the Education Ministry in China.

Researcher participating in 3 research projects sponsored the philosophy and Social Science Research Fund of the Education Ministry in China.
